Our vision is an important part for learning and study (almost 80% of learning is from our vision apparatus), therefore taking care of our vision is our priority.
Most of the time in the vision development, a child is too busy with reading and tracking small detail. We forget that the more we adapt to a specific close distance, it can cause problem especially short sightedness. It is not necessary reading thru a smart phone but also other close work activities such as school work, comic and etc. Beside limited living space and too focus on indoor activities, restrict our eye ablity to look far.
Therefore, we highly recommend children to have more outdoor activities as to widen the horizon of seeing.
Vision is not limited on focusing thru our natural lenses but also a team work between both eye. If one eye want to look left and the other eye want to look right, it will cause a lot of problem. An irregular coordination of the eye such as squint might cause muscle fatigue, double vision and etc. Therefore we emphasize not only testing the power of the eye but also the coordination between both eye.
In many times, eye protection can be as simple as wearing a protective glasses For instance while playing badminton or squash, these games have a high impact to the eye, as the size of the shuttlecock and ball can fit into our orbit. They are numerous case which patient end up in casualty after a simple game like this.
Other eye protection such as 100% UV protection is important also especially tropical country like us. As UV exposure and blue light from monitor cause harmful ray to the eye. I highly recommend those who wear glasses to incorporate UV coat and blue filter.
